Default SLED WANTED

Well I screwed up and sold one of my sleds to soon and now I am suppose to be riding this weekend with two sleds and I only have one.

Im looking for a sled in the $1500 to $4500 range and need it this Saturday morning or I can meet at Timmy Lee's when I get up Friday night.

I will include free beer if I purchase your sled Friday!

If you just need one for the weekend there are 2 places in town that rent them.

See, If you would have sold it to me, I would have given it back to ya for the weekend!

Snelly (Con-Fusion) is as close to a tech on Polaris as you will get. He's been around that breed for as long as snowmobiles had tracks. You can PM him if you want. If he doesn't know the answer, he has good resources!!

I did talk to once and yes he is very knowledgeable. I am trying to get a hold of him again. I wish he was closer I would bring it to him and I'm sure he would have running better than new.

Too bad that old guy isn't around Strongs anymore. He used to have a Cat/Polaris dealership. I think his name was Cliff. He'd been in business so long he still called them "sleighs". He was a helluva mechanic and a great guy. Confusion knows who I mean.

Jo Ann,

Thanks for calling, I was going to call you back in the morning after I either bought or didn't buy the sled I went to look at tonight. Well I bought it so I am no longer in need of a sled.

Thank you

Now for my wifes sled.

Like new 2006 Polaris Classic 500 liquid
900 miles

I bought it from a lady who had not used it in a couple of years. It runs perfect, idles nice, and starts right up. It doesn't seem to have the zip that one would expect from a 500 liquid and when you start it warm (without the choke) it seems to be starving for fuel, not so bad that it doesn't run or start but just enough to where its noticeable for a picky owner (me). Being that it has sat for a few years I am sure its just a carb cleaning and adjustment but that is out or my realm. I should say that the plugs are a perfect cardboard color so I think the mid-range is good.

My problem is if I take needles and jets apart I am not sure of the factory settings when I put them back together.

Maybe I'm just used to a fine running Ski Doo.

Thanks

Pat

Wish I lived closer. Cleaning those carbs would be about a 3 beer job. Really not that hard. There's an old Arctic Cat dealer in Naubinway. Not sure if he still works on sleds or not. He might help you out. Cleaning carbs is pretty generic.

Well I found another Ski Doo GTX (2-Up) for my wife and I have a guy who wants the Polaris for $3800 so I will do a nice cleaning and switch back to the Ski Doo's.

I guess I'm a Ski Doo guy and when these two GTX 2-Ups became available it makes sense. My kids are soon to be 7 and 8 so a 2-Up was defiantly in the future.

At least with the GTX I can take the 2nd and 3rd seat off so I wont look like I have retired to a grandpa sled. No offense to you grandpa's
