Default Favorite Club websites

I am gathering data.
I know this website is sorely outdated - and will be updated for next season.

Please post up a link to your favorite snow and ORV club websites.
Tell us what you like, and don't like about them.

Also there is a movement to discontinue this forum in favor of facebook.
I feel that we may get more casual participation that way, but it may not be the best platform overall.

Post up your comments please

SORVA has a nice website, and they also post to Facesucker.

Same here... I do not use Facebook nor do any of my riding buddies.

I am not versed well enough to make any recommendations, but I'm sure a lot of folks on here will have some great ideas.

Remember, I am talking a website in general, not just trail reports.

This is I believe the only sledding site I follow with this type of format. It works for me but I just don't check it as much as the ones I follow on FB. I do like the ASORV website and I think PANR has a good one as well. Many clubs do have decent websites but also supplement with a Facebook page.

I thought the website looked a little dated this year too. I will say that since 95% of my rides begin and end on Iggy trails this is the only site I really follow. I do check TASA but I hate their one or two liners that say good to excellent. The only good reports are straight from the groomers. As for facebook, they are good for "eye candy" but there are really too many posts and I have unfollowed or unliked all of them towards the end of the season.

Love it or hate it FB is the number 1 spot for groups and info. Mostly all of the trail reports/club info is now being populated on FB.

Neil I will say with more traffic comes more attention to keep trolls off the page and so forth. If facebook becomes your route I highly suggest a few loyal club members as admins to patrol and keep things at bay.

Seems as websites are becoming a thing of the past. If you really want to win people over start talking about an app that has a forum built in with maps and trail reports. You would then be leading the way!

Right now my plan is to upgrade the forum software to what I have found to be the best out there. I should be able to preserve all of our content - which I think is kinda important (we lost some pictures and such about 6 years ago)
There should be an app available that will run the forum software on your mobile. Pictures and video upload and integration will be much easier. I think some sort of integration with facebook is possible - not sure yet. I would think we can increase participation if people could login with their facebook info.

Trail reports will most likely still be done in the forum. I will look at cross-posting them to facebook but will not guarantee it. Back when I get this website going a trail report literally would take 2-3 hours to do as I would post here, and there on like a dozen different websites.

I guess I wonder why people go to some random facebook page when the MSA has their trail report up. I do post to MSA, and link directly here. That is why I can't figure out why I was getting messages that people can't find trail conditions - the MSA page is the go-to for the whole state, do people not know that?

I don't think web pages are out of date in favor of social media. There can be integration, but there still needs to be a go-to home base if you will.

I am very interested in things and the look of the actual webpage. What do you want to see? What should we have? What do you like, or hate about other clubs/area pages. I do know that it will be mobile-friendly.

Mobile friendly is definitely the way to go! Personally I wish I could just click unread posts and see everything instead of searching. It works for me about 25% of the time lol
